What is your school best known for?Xavier University of Louisiana is well-known for it’s ranking as #1 for placing African-Americans in medical school. Also, Xavier has a renowned pharmacy program that can be completed by undergraduates in 6 years.What’s unique about your school compared to other schools you considered?Compared to other schools, Xavier is unique because from the moment you step onto the campus, you are surrounded by caring individuals. Campus Tours and Freshman Orientation are led by Peer Deans- enthusiastic, encouraging student leaders. Teachers are always willing to assist you. Though the academics are rigorous, the encouragement, motivation, and assistance you will recieve from faculty and staff along the way makes success not only possible, but almost inevitable.

Describe your school in one sentence.My school is very family orientated. Its an enviroment where you know that the proffesors and administrators are here to help you better yourself not only educationally but as a person too.What’s unique about your school compared to other schools you considered?Xavier is the only historically black catholic university in the United States. Xavier is a university where not only it strives to provide a good education but aslo a christian atmosphere.

What do you wish you had known before you came to this school?I wish I had known that I would end up becoming a special education teacher. That way I could have still attended this school, become certified, and be into my teaching career at this time. I chose to attend Xavier because of its remarkable reputation. At the time I wanted to become a doctor and thought I had it figured out concerning my career path. However life taught me a valuable lesson and that is you cannot always get what you want but you will get everything you need. Working with children with special needs is a blessing and hasWhat kind of person shouldn’t attend this school?A person who procrastinates, has serious time management issues, or who is just plain lazy and does not want to work hard should not attend this school. Xavier University of Louisiana is a school that stresses academic excellence and desires that students who attend the school succeed academically. It is a school that gets you prepared to enter other professional schools in the areas of medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry. A person pursuing a career in education can also attend this school. If you are dedicated, determined, dependable then you would be a very good candidate to attend this school.
