Describe your classmates in one sentence. They’re friendly and down to earth and are always willing to work together in order to suceeed. What kind of person should attend this school?Someone looking for professors and advisors who actually care and work with you to figure out your future. This is a really down to earth school and everyone is so nice and friendly. The professors here show great passion in what they teach and make you want to learn more. There’s so much to do here, and the school always has fun activities to do every week. It’s an overlooked school and is given a bad rep over rumors. UC Riverside is a great place to get a great education.

What do you wish you had known before you came to this school?I wish I had known more about the weather. I came from Florida which is usually hot up until Late November, early December. I didn’t come prepared enough for the weather or for the location. What’s the most frustrating thing about your school? The most frustrating is the location. There aren’t any grocery stores near-by in which to buy food or supplies in general without a car.

Describe your school in one sentence.University of California, Riverside’s diversified composition of students is one of the main sources of vitality that surges through the campus, allowing students to use their different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds as an advantageous mean to form a more holistic global perspective and to accept individual differences through interaction with their peers, enabling them to come together as a single entity embodying UCR and diversity pride. What’s unique about your school compared to other schools you considered?University of California, Riverside (UCR) is truly representative of a melting pot, the epitome of American diversity. In this UCR land of the free, students of multiple heritages unite, encouraged to contribute their distinctive spices (cuisine), herbs (knowledge of different geographies and socioeconomic upbringings), sweat (individual toil), and tears (personal sufferings) into this melting pot to create an interdependent community, an essential element within this evermore globalized world. Through this compelled understanding of different cultures, UCR students are better able to transcend prevalent prejudicial barriers, able to communally integrate within this melting pot in order to strive for international betterment.
