What kind of person shouldn’t attend this school?if your school hasn’t prepared you well for college, then you definitely do not want to come here.  i used to be a straight A, 4.0 student in high school and when i came to college, i received my first C’s and F’s.  it was heart wrenching.  you need to know what your resources are, such as your counselors and make a graduating plan so you know what classes to take.  i was dismissed from the university at the end of my freshman year because i had received 2 F’s. then i came back prepared.,What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?UC davis is a 4 yr research university.  so you know that all the classes you take make you work your ass off.  you have to be the top 10% of your high school in order to get in here.  students here are very academically driven

What do you wish you had known before you came to this school?I wish I would have known that the town of Davis itself was relatively small. There is not much to do around town besides go out for dinner. Luckily Sacramento is close and has more to do there. Also, it would have been nice to know that it is hard to find a study abroad program with a biology major. Most of the programs are set up for English and History type majors. They do have marine biology emphasis programs but not for other types of biology. I really wish they would set a good program for biology abroad.,What’s unique about your school compared to other schools you considered?Davis is a very great school to attend. It has a excellent reputation, is not too crowded, ethnically diverse, and is very environmentally responsible. Most students ride their bikes around campus and the public transportation runs on natural gas or electricity, making it very easy of a student to be environmentally responsible. Also, we just became a division 1 school which has sparked more school spirit than the years before. Davis has a large campus and is home to many different animals due to the vet school. Being close to Sacramento it is relatively easy to get an internship.

What is your school best known for?Bikes, Public Safety, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Friendly environment, Environmental Awareness,  Whole Earth Festival, Diversity, Picnic Day, Outdoor Adventures, Farmland, Location (proximity to Sacramento), Academic Prestige,What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?I brag about the excellent plant and animal science programs at our school, and how environmentally conscience it is. Davis was the first city in the United States to create bike lanes, and almost every student rides a bike to and from campus. I love the friendly, safe environment and the countless opportunities and majors for different fields of interest.

What is your school best known for?My school is best known for its thousands of bikes used by thousands of students to transport to and from campus. Davis is called the City of Bikes for a reason. While many people drive as well, an extensive network of bike paths and bike lanes connect throughout the city and even to surrounding cities for everyone’s convenience. Not only is bike riding good exercise, but also environmentally friendly!,What kind of person shouldn’t attend this school?A close-minded person shouldn’t attend this school because there are different kinds of people and many opportunities to try different activities, that it’d be a waste to stay sheltered with oneself. Since Davis is a college town, it is a great place to easily meet other people of similar age.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?The worst thing about my school is that it is far away from home.  Everything else is perfect about this school.,What do you wish you had known before you came to this school?I wish I knew how crazy it would get during rush hour so that I could avoid the traffic and the bike accidents.
