What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?I would have to say that the worst thing about my school would have to be the seemingly restricted access to students in regards to registration and maintaining good standing for classes. There are so many guidelines for students to follow and students must diligently seek information from many resources in order to obtain an understanding of these guidelines. What do you wish you had known before you came to this school?I wish I knew more about the registration process and guidelines before coming to Oakland University.  I had to learn many of the school’s guidelines through experience, which made things a little more difficult.

Describe your school in one sentence. It’s got its up and its downs, but overall a majority of the professors are passionate and kind. The students are friendly and mostly accepting. It’s not a great school, but it’s definitel not bad either. What do you wish you had known before you came to this school?Nothing, really. No school is perfect. The goods outweigh the bads for me as far as OU is concerned. I might’ve warned my past self about the few terrible professors I did run into, however.

What do you consider the best thing about your school? Why?The best thing about my school would be the variety of degrees that are offered. If someone woke up one day and wanted to switch majors, that would be more than fine.Describe your school in one sentence.Oakland University is diverse and welcoming!

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?The worst thing about Oakland University is the lack of diversity between the students. Most people go to college with the hope that they will meet new and interesting people; unfortunately, Oakland does not provide much of an opportunity for this. I think my college experience would be much more fulfilling and enriching if my classes were filled with dedicated, diverse individuals. What’s the most frustrating thing about your school? The most frustrating thing about Oakland University is the lack of campus life. Although it is primarily a commuter college, some of us do live on camps, and there isn’t much to do after class or on the weekends. It is difficult to connect with other students, which in turn makes it difficult to feel like I fit in at or have a bond with the university itself.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?There are so many events held on campus that are not advertised at all. What kind of person should attend this school? An individual who wants to see a changing environment. This school is changing from it’s commuter roots into a full-blown university like UofM or Michigan State.
