What kind of person should attend this school?A person who is looking for a great education in the Media Arts field (Animation, Game Art, Fashion, Interior Design, Film, Audio Majors & more),  a chance to expand their creative horizons and develop their skills into something amazing, experienced teachers who truly understand their students and care about their students’ success, the excitement and fun of the big city with the security and closeness of a small town community, and friendships that will last a lifetime with both fellow students as well as faculty should attend The Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg.,What’s unique about your school compared to other schools you considered? My school is unlike any other, and is so much more than I ever expected it to be. Unlike many of the art schools I considered, ILIS caters more to Media Art majors instead of Fine Art majors, while still stressing the significance of art history. Another plus about ILIS is all professors have experience in the field that they are teaching, and are truly exceptional at passing their knowledge on. Also, the student environment is unlike any other. Computer labs, library, and student lounge, are great for doing homework and socializing. ILIS has Chicago nearby, and small town comfort.

Describe your school in one sentence.ILIS is an awesome experience because it’s not a university setting; it’s a professional environment, filled with extraordianary artists rather than typical students.,What kind of person shouldn’t attend this school? If you have no self-confidence, forget it. If you don’t have the drive to complete everything with your greatest ability, you’re not going to make it. If you can’t handle constructive criticism, good luck. If you can’t open your mind to new, freshly creative ideas (thinking outside of “the box”), it’s probably not the school for you. If you’re not professional, you won’t be seen in any other way. Most importantly, if you don’t share a passion for your creations, you probably shouldn’t attend the Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg.

What do you consider the best thing about your school? Why?I have taken four classes so far and the one thing that has been consistant is the respect and enthusiasm the teachers bring to the class.  The Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg creates an interesting and exciting place for students of all ages to attend. I am confident with the work I am doing there and I know that I am learning much more than skills.,What do you wish you had known before you came to this school?I wish I had known what a wonderful fit classes would be here at the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg.  I’ve revisisted the idea of going back to school since I left Illinois State University back in 1984 if someone was there to explain the investment in education was a nessesary dept like a home or a car.  I was and still am concerned about paying for school when it’s all done but so far I feel this second chance at an education is an investment in my future.

Describe your classmates in one sentence. The school that I attend has a broad range of talent, looks and ages. Each student has there own speciality and unique quality. I like to think that I can learn many different techniques from each and every one of them.,What kind of person should attend this school? The kind of person that should attend this school, is one with an open mind. You need to be able to except all people, race and religion as well as background and preference. I truly believe that this is one of the best art schools and can open your eyes to a large array of stuendts and personalities.
