Dominican University of California is a private institution located in San Rafael and sits on approximately 80 acres near the base of Mount Tamalpais. The campus is recognized for its variety of buildings, built in the architectural styles of specific time periods. Four residence halls are available on the Dominican University campus: Pennafort (all freshman); Fanjeax (mostly freshman); Meadowlands (mix); and Edgehill Village (upper classmen). All residence halls are co-ed. 90 percent of freshmen live on campus and over 50 percent of undergraduate students live on campus. Freshmen are automatically guaranteed a residency on campus. Sophomores, juniors and seniors receive on-campus housing through lottery. Smoking is not allowed on campus, but the university itself is not considered a alcohol-free campus. Pennafort and Fanjeax are dry dorms, as no one over 21 resides in those halls.

What do you consider the best thing about your school? Why?The small size allows teachers to better connect with students and give them 100 percent of thier attention.,What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?Dominican is a small private school, so i always get the classes i want and the attention i need.  They ofter great tutoring services that really help me pass my classes. The edgehill dorms are very nice and i really like living here.  I have made many friends at Dominican and it is a very relaxed environment.

What do you consider the best thing about your school? Why?The best thing about my school is the small class sizes. it gives each student an equal opprotunity to have a one on one conversation with each teacher. Not only does the school provide small class sizes you have a better opprotunity to meet new people because it is small.,What’s the most frustrating thing about your school? The most frustrating thing about my school is how my school promots finiacial aid yet they do not help provide aid to those who have been struggling to pay for school like I have been doing since freshman year.  Also, they give scholarships to those who play sports but they cannot provide an academic scholarship to those who have been doing well in their classes.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?Since I love my school it is difficult to pick just one thing that I would brag about to my friends but, I?d have to say the peaceful campus. Many people want to go to loud party schools, but that wasn?t for me. I love that my school is so peaceful that you can take a walk and hear only the wind. I love that my school is so peaceful that if you could take your homework outside and complete it without any distractions. The peacefulness is awesome and is something that many other college campuses lack.,If you could change something about your school, what would you change?I want to start off by saying that I love my school and I couldn?t have made a better decision of where I wanted to pursue my higher education. Yet one thing that I wish I could change about Dominican University is the school spirit. School spirit says a lot about a school and without it excitement is lost. People are no longer excited to say that they attend this college, they are no longer excited to attend sporting events, and they are no longer excited to make the most out of all the opportunities that come their way.
