Arkansas Tech University is a regional university located in one of the most beautiful rural parts of the country, between two national forests--the Ozark and Oachita. Under the institution’s president since 1993, Dr. Robert C. Brown, the university has improved and expanded its infrastructure and programs of study beginning in 1995. Quite a few of the university’s buildings appear in the National Register of Historic Places (the government’s list of buildings or sites deemed worthy of preservation), including a few residences halls (Caraway Hall, Hughes Hall, and Wilson Hall) and academic buildings (Techionery, Williamson Hall and Old Art Building). The institution’s library and technology center is also one of the most advanced in the nation.

What is your school best known for?The school here is best know for being academically balanced, being cheap to attend, and for giving lots of scholarships and financial aid. Almost eveyone that attends this school can get some sort of financial aid.,What do you consider the best thing about your school? Why?I think the best thing about this school is that every major has a good program. You get taught what you need and the teachers enjoy teaching you the material.

What do you consider the best thing about your school? Why?One of the best things at Arkansas Tech University is the fact that they require all students to talk to an advisor before every semester. Because of this requirement a student is less likely to waste money on an already expensive education. ATU is also working to add more tutoring and on campus programs to help students make the best out of their education. I have had professors tell me directly that they do not want their students to feel as if they are wasting their money. I believe they are doing their best to honor this statement.,What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?I think that Arkansas Tech University could greatly improve its campus by adding computer labs and study areas around the campus for students to use between classes.

Describe your classmates in one sentence.Most of my classmates are friendly, but some of them can be annoying.,What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?I tell them that everyone is very nice and helpful and that the campus is not to big and not to small. Its just the right size!

What kind of person shouldn’t attend this school?People who are not serious about a career should not attend Arkansas Tech University.,If you could change something about your school, what would you change?I would change the parking. Arkansas Tech Universtiy is great and growing so fast that I have to go 30 minutes early to make sure I have a parking spot.
