Arkansas Tech University is a regional university located in one of the most beautiful rural parts of the country, between two national forests--the Ozark and Oachita. Under the institution’s president since 1993, Dr. Robert C. Brown, the university has improved and expanded its infrastructure and programs of study beginning in 1995. Quite a few of the university’s buildings appear in the National Register of Historic Places (the government’s list of buildings or sites deemed worthy of preservation), including a few residences halls (Caraway Hall, Hughes Hall, and Wilson Hall) and academic buildings (Techionery, Williamson Hall and Old Art Building).
